Family Friendly-Responder Focused
We started this local event in 2022 as a way to honor the fallen in our community and as a way to bring first responders and the community together. Proceeds from the 805 HERO WALK will be donated to local organizations that support public safety mental health and leadership training. We know that well training and healthy first responders make better decisions under stress.

This event is LOW COST
The 805 HERO Walk has a very low cost to participate and all proceeds are going to are being donated to a nonprofit that supports public safety. The cost is $20 for an individual and only $35 for a family. We will have a limited number of 805 HERO t-shirts and hats onsite the morning of the event for purchase. You can register and pay here or the morning of the event so show up 15 minutes early.

Why are we doing this?
Several years ago we learned about an event called "Carry the Load" which is what our event is modeled after. The spirit of Carry the Load is "Who are you carrying?" and symbolizes carrying your fallen brother or sister. We created our own event and called it the 805HERO Walk and we walk to honor our fallen Ventura County First Responders because a hero remembered never dies.
About Carry The Load:
What started as a mission to restore the true meaning of Memorial Day has grown to include more than just our military heroes and more than just the one holiday. Carry The Load works to bring all Americans together to participate in honoring our nation’s heroes every day. -2011 Founded by Veteran U.S. Navy SEALs, Clint Bruce and Stephen Holley, Carry The Load's mission to restore the true meaning of Memorial Day which is why our event will always be in Memorial May.
